Black Belt Distributor to pound the streets

Harpenden, UK 7th April 2004

Now in its fourth year and with over 20,000 registered runners, this years Feelfine British 10K Race will take place on the 1st of August and will be run on one of the world's greatest race routes through the heart of central London finishing in Whitehall.

This years entries will see John Richards, Technical Director at distributors Iridiacom, running as part of a 25 strong team from Nam-Pai-Chuan Shaolin Kung Fu Schools around the country.

John is now a black belt and has been learning since 1997. In 2001 he was a member of the winning team at the Nam-Pai-Chuan Shaolin Championships. "Shaolin Kung Fu has a long and rich history dating back many centuries to the Shaolin monks who practised Kung Fu to keep their bodies supple yet strong during their time in Temples." explained John, "It is a Chinese martial art which encompasses animal movements for defensive and offensive strikes as well traditional kicks and punches. The movements are based on animals such as the Tiger, Snake, Monkey, Crane, Leopard and Eagle. In addition to empty handed techniques, we also practice with weapons such as Broadswords, knives, staffs and spears."
