Unite IP Version 2 

Harpenden based distributor Iridiacom have recently started shipping version 2.0 software with the Telrad Connegy UNITe IP system. Along with some minor tweaks and enhancements to ring mapping and profiles, resellers will now benefit from GAP support for DECT users which opens the door to resellers using their preferred GAP compliant handset on the system whilst still retaining the benefits of visual caller display information normally associated with proprietary handsets.

The ability to dial into your system, have your call routed over your network, then break out at the other end has been around for some time. Telrad have improved the security measures in version 2.0 and now provide a transparent ‘call through’ feature which allows mobile users to route calls globally across the IP network then ‘break-out’ at the remote location. This feature has benefited Telrad directly as all international staff now have their mobile and landline numbers registered across the network of switches around the world allowing them to make international calls at a fraction of the normal cost. 

Version 2.0 also sees the eagerly awaited software licensing scheme which allows the straightforward future expansion of the systems resources via the online purchase of software keys. These keys will not only open up Call Centre seats, enhanced conferencing and call through but also allow the addition of further users without the need to change processors. This scheme is now provided with all systems from 10 to 400 ports.

It eliminates the need for costly card swaps and reduces a reseller’s maintenance overheads whilst providing higher gross profit opportunities in the future.”
